“You’ve got to see this movie!” I heard that often when The Sixth Sense was released. I also heard that it had this huge twist. However, I didn’t see it, at least not in the theater.

I did check it out when it was released on DVD. Everybody was raving about it, so it must be phenomenal, right? Well, I didn’t think it was phenomenal - not for most of the movie. I knew there was this huge twist, but to be honest, I kinda forgot about it until it happened. So, I was watching what I thought was a good movie about a little boy who saw dead people.

Then it happened - wow! One of the best plot twists EVER in my humble opinion. Notwithstanding this great cinematic achievement (no sarcasm, seriously), I was a little upset that I didn’t figure it out myself.

Good movie. Great ending. But The Sixth Sense does not lend itself well to multiple viewings because of the huge twist at the end, which completely changes your perspective. Of course, you can watch it again and again to see if writer/director M. Night Shyamalan stuck to the “rules” he set for himself in dealing with Bruce Willis‘ character. Check out the DVD extra for an explanation of these “rules.”

Therefore, The Sixth Sense checks in at No. 97.

Have a great weekend and check back on Monday for No. 96! !
