Backdraft is not Ron Howard’s best work and it did have a contrived plot, but it also had Robert De Niro, Donald Sutherland, Scott Glenn, Kurt Russell and some great fire/action sequences. Not to mention, it’s a tribute to firefighters. How can you go wrong with that?
Backdraft is also in my “if I find it on TV I’m watching it” list. And yes, you will see that list in the future.
I wasn’t able to find a trailer for Backdraft, but i did find a pretty cool video featuring the score by Hans Zimmer. It’s long, but worth a look (and those looking will see spoilers).
Don’t forget to come back tomorrow for Part II of my Top 15 Movies to Watch on Halloween list. If you’re worried about forgetting, just subscribe to Flicks Lists and you won’t ever have to worry about missing a list again!
