I have a confession to make. Actually a couple of them.
1. This movie escaped me for several years. I recently saw it and loved it; and
2. I almost ranked this movie a lot higher than it should have been for this list.
This list is my Top 100 (Favorite) Movies. I used several factors to rank the movies including the number of times I had seen a movie and how long ago I first saw it. I love A History of Violence, but I ranked it much low on this list because it was a relatively new movie that I had only seen once recently. Similarly, The Godfather Part II received a lower ranking than it probably would have had I seen this flick more than once or at an early point in my life.
All that being said, I was concerned that people would not take this list seriously, so I almost ranked it MUCH higher. I decided against that and am happy I stuck to my guns, as I did with the rest of the entries in this list.
So what do I think of this movie? It is one of the greatest movies ever: great acting, great direction, memorable moments, great dialogue and almost as good as The Godfather.

I think I can live with 70 for Godfather Part II. I have a hard time deciding whether I like the first or second better, but they are both great.
Francis Ford Copola has made some very impressive films.

Who cares what other people might think, this is your list, and I like it so far…with a few exceptions
You are so right Mike. That’s why I made my little confession. I want people to know that this list is mine and mine alone, these are my favorite movies and I am being true to myself and this list by ranking movies where I think they should be ranked.
I’m also glad that you disagree with some of the rankings. Hopefully others will too and it will result in some good discussions! (which is one of the reasons I did this in the first place).
